After comparing a few options, I went with the Sur-Ron Light Bee L1e (Road Legal) — good call. Range has held up close to the advertised 69 km on my usual routes. Top speed is right around 45 km/h, which feels well controlled rather than twitchy. Would recommend to anyone considering one.
